Only 2 Places Remaining

Trip Overview

During this seven day trip to Baja, Mexico, you will be paddling and exploring the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Our base camp is a beautiful cabin located on a rocky peninsula that casts out into the Pacific Ocean and provides the perfect playground for kayaking, playing, exploring and to get the chance to view possible sightings of whales, sea lions, seals, dolphins and numerous other marine wildlife.

This trip is designed for paddlers who have never paddled on the ocean and the trip will be a combination of a professional guided trip where you will be out paddling/sightseeing daily in addition to having the opportunity to develop and work on your paddling skills. You will have the opportunity to learn how to play safely within an ocean environment and you will get a chance to learn how to play around rocks (rock gardening),  overfalls and slots and maybe a little bit of surfing as well.

You can view photo's from previous trips at the bottom of this page.

The head coach and lead guide on this trip will be Jen Kleck from the USA.  Jen Kleck is regarded among her peers as being one of the top female sea kayak coaches in North America.  Jen was the first woman in North America to become a BC Sea Kayak Level 5 coach, she also holds BC 5 Star Sea Kayak Leadership, BC 4 Star Surf and Jen was part the USA national champion women's kayak polo team for 3 years and holds a WFA certification.

I want to highlight that this trip is not specifically a training course, we have designed this trip to be a combination of a professionally guided/exploring trip and a kayak skills development week. I will be assisting Jen for the duration of this trip. This trip will appeal to kayakers who want to go away on a fun and relaxing guided trip while having the opportunity to work on developing and learning new skills at the same time.

There will also be the opportunity for you to be assessed for your BC 3* star award (equivalent to Paddle Canada Level 2) during this trip. The assessment is optional and it will be informal and in a non pressurized environment for those of you who would like to gain a BC 3* star award.
